A Little advice please

I had a vaginal hysterectomy on Thursday 12/22/11...I began having a very FOUL odor a couple of days ago...with discharge!!! Called the doc and he sent antibiotics. Although the odor is better (sort of) the discharge is still there and I am not sure if I should go back to doc...he said give it 48 hours and we are at hour 33. Anyone else experience this?

seem to be having more pain on left side as well....

Re: A Little advice please

I would call again and ask to be seen. Better safe than sorry.

Re: A Little advice please

If you feel uneasy at all call your doctor. I had an infected incision and it definately took 48 hrs. for me to see any difference at all. It still took about 4 days before I actually started feeling better. My infection actually looked worse after the first 24 hrs. on antibiotics. It does take some time for them to get in your system and start working. I would give it until tomoorw. If nob improvement, call. Peace of mind is priceless. Hugs and good luck to you.

Re: A Little advice please

I had a TVH on Dec 13, and I had light discharge the first 2 weeks with pain on my left side in the back/ pelvic region... For the past few days the discharge has become a dark brown color ( no odor)... I have not had a fever, but out of concern I called my doc... The on call doc said it was granulation tissue, and I would have to have a round of silver nitrate to help with this issue...So yes I am also pretty much experiencing the same thing...

Re: A Little advice please

I had to have a granulation treatment in the O.R.
I guess mine was so bad that it needed to be cauterized.

I just had severe pain with intercourse, then bleeding after.

It eventually all healed, and all is well right now, thank goodness.

Make sure to call your doctor if something seems like it isn't right.
That is what he/she is there for.
