Hi Sisters, the day is drawing near and I keep waffling back and forth with the "what ifs".

Of course, there's always one person out there that says, "Maybe you should see an endo specialist in a larger city before making this decision". With that, I went right home and called my doctor's staff to bombard them with more questions. Remember, the sqeaky wheel always gets greased! It was confirmed that my adeno is in the center of my uterus down to the canal and the adhesions are connected to my small bowel. I asked again, why they couldn't leave my ovaries and they said because of my history of endo. I feel much better now that I got some more issues clarified. I didn't ask why they opted to do a TAH rather than laparascopicly. Is there too much going on in there for them to chance it?

All in all, the waiting is the worst. I got all my Mother's day cards addressed ready for mailing, and need to think of some freezer recipes that kids will want to eat

My church family and some friends have offered babysitting, dinners etc. I thought I'd be in this all alone, however, people actually do care.

Any suggestions for recipes or what I need to bring to the castle? Thanks :time2:

Hi Redpepper

Hang in there that big date will come and go before you know it.
And yes waiting really is the hardest part. Soon you will be posting that to the other

I am glad you have a good support system lined up to help you. Yes, people really do care. The help just doesn't always come from the expected places.

Here is a link of somethings to consider taking to the hospital. But I suggest you pare it down.

Good luck to you. And post when you are home and up to it.

Suggestions for kid friendly recipes

Hi Redpepper,

If you are interested, I have some great recipes that do well in the freezer. They are for chicken enchiladas and lasagna. My kids love both of these, and trust me they are very easy to fix. If you want them, just shoot me an e-mail and I will e-mail it back to you!!

I know what you mean about the what if's. My surgery is being bumped up by 4 weeks. I have endo and possibly adeno, and my doctor refuses to do any other procedure but a TAH/BSO. He says that he wants to make sure to get everything, and that is the reason for the TAH. The reason for the BSO is that he doesn't want to take the chance of leaving the ovaries only to find out later that they were also responsible for causing my pain and then I have to go through this all over again!! I AGREE WITH HIM and so does my family!!

My e-mail is always open if you want to chat more one on one!!

Take care of yourself, and soon this will all be a thing of the past and you will have a wonderful pain free future looming in front of you!! I know I can't wait!!!!

Hi

Hi Redpepper...Do take your own pillow! A little bit of comforting -home sweet home! I had a TAH in 99 Theyhad to do it this way to get a real good hands on approach. I'm going back in May for the ovaries. Guess what ..another abdonimal ! No laproscoptic surgery. There's too much in there and they need me open.
You are being smart to prepare ahead and you must be a gem for so many people to rally around and help! The first time I had a fair amount of help.. This time is different. I moved about 30 miles up the road and you would think I moved to Syberia! But we are going to be fine and this will pass!Good luck girlfriend!

Deb! I was so happy to have my pillow from home! I put on one of those soft t-shirt pillow cases. I also used my chapstick and a nail file. My slipper sox and comfy pj pants and shirt.

It will be here before you know it and then, you can post on the post-op board as a won't that be cool?

The waiting really is the toughest part!
