No more need for "feminine needs"
Since I'm almost 5 weeks post-op and have more energy now, I decided to clean out the bathroom cabinets today. Wow - I realized how much my life has changed. I was able to throw or give away the following: overnight maxi pads, super-plus tampons, tampon carry case, diaphram, contraceptive jelly, leftover birth control pills, Midol, pregnancy test kit, and menopause test kit (I could never figure out what phase of life I was in!). Plus I'll no longer have to keep a stash at work of pads, tampons, and change of clothing. Having a hysterectomy has its advantages!

No more need for "feminine needs"
Louise,
I know what you mean! I looked under my bathroom sink the other day and realized I could make room for other stuff! I'll keep a few items around for when DD and son's fiance' come to visit. Maybe we should figure out how much we spent, per year, on that stuff, and go and buy ourselves a new outfit!

No more need for "feminine needs"
I know how you ladies feel! It is wonderful! In fact, it has been over 8 mo. for me, and I am still finding "stashes" in the funniest places!
Life is good!

No more need for "feminine needs"
I have a whole empty drawer now where I used to keep all the nightime pads, supers, normals, thins, thicks, panty liners - you name it I had it! But, do you know, I'm still a little bit wary and have kept a few "just in case". I suppose it's because I can't believe I really won't have another period again.

No more need for "feminine needs"
isn't it great? I cleaned out my bathroom cabinets & took out a grocery bag full of pads & tampons, & gave them to my sis & her two girls.

No more need for "feminine needs"
5 weeks for me to, but I am still using the darn pads due to slight watery brown discharge.... when does that stop?
Would so love to throw out my pads too!

No more need for "feminine needs"
Eastbourne,
I had slight spotting after my 5 week post op check (he did an internal), then 2 days later nothing, and have had none since (7 weeks). Of course we are all so different...

No more need for "feminine needs"
I have to admit I saved one box of thin panty liners "just in case." It's so hard to let go after bleeding almost daily for a year! Before surgery, I even drove with a towel on the seat of my car after a nasty accident.
I haven't had any spotting since 2 days post-op. It seems like the gals who had vaginal hysts are reporting a spotting problem more than the abdominal hysts??
I also got really annoyed with a couple co-workers who told me before the surgery, "Lucky you - no more periods." As if I was having surgery just to get rid of (normal) periods! I guess if you haven't had excessive bleeding/hemorrhaging or periods with killer cramps, you just can't relate to what some of us have been through!
