Bleeding six months later?
I had my hysterectomy last July and recovered quickly without any complications. Now, six months later, I have had cramping and slight bleeding after intercourse - twice.
Is this anything to be worried about?

Bleeding six months later?
Hi Pinklemonade,
I think you need to see your doctor as it sounds like you may have a granulation problem. If this is the case he'll do a silver nitrate treatment.
Take care............Karen

Bleeding six months later?
Hi pinkleomonade
It isn't usually anything serious. My understanding is that sometimes this can grow on the healing tissues. The dictionary says it is tiny blood vessels and connective tissue that forms on the surface of a wound. When this happens you have to have it treated by your dr with the silver nitrate for it to go away.
Usually it happens earlier on in your recovery, but I have read it isn't unusual for it to occur months or even years after surgery. You might want to read this article about it. https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/article_157308.htm
Let us know what your dr has to say.

Bleeding six months later?
Thanks for the information. I'll call my doctor tomorrow. This happened one other time quite awhile back, but then not again until recently. The last time I called, the nurse said not to worry about it. But since it's happened twice in a row, something may be going on.
