Yeast Infection?
Went to Dr. for my 6 week check up and he had to use silver nitrate, it will be 2 weeks on Friday since the procedure was done and I feel like I have a yeast infection! I have no discharge, just the itch that I can't scratch! Should I just go and get an over the counter cream or call the doctor?

since you had to have silver nitrate, you should call your dr. if your vaginal cuff isnt healed, you dont want to insert anything vaginally.

I would definitely call the Dr.!! For me, Diflucan works better than the cream and like dressedupinblue said I wouldnt put anything 'in there'.

Yeast Infection?
I wondered if I had a yeast infection and debated about the otc treatments. But, as I had never had any type of infection before didn't know what to do. I decided to go to dr. Culture showed a bacterial infection so the otc stuff wouldn't have worked it would have just prolonged the discomfort. I needed an antibiotic.

Yeast Infection?
at one week post op I had a terrible itch and was sore all in the vulvar area. I called the doc. He told me to take azo over the counter pills and yoplait plus yogurt and to put monistat on the vulvar area (and only near the vaginal opening, not in) for a week. Went away great. But talk to your doc.., I would think.
