Just an enormous vent - feel free to ignore

So it's the night of day 18 post-op for me. Hubby has been wonderful - he's done all the washing, shopping, fetching and carrying (but no cleaning.. cos he doesn't really know how, and I don't mind a dirty but tidy house). Today he came home from work and mentioned he was "a bit tired" - even though he woke me up 4 times with his snoring last night.

NOW - at 7:30pm - he's vanished. I am fairly certain he's gone for a "nap" - despite the fact I told him I am also tired - maybe cause I had big surgery 2.5 weeks ago? He often stays up till 3 or 4am on a Friday night "because it's Friday night!!!".

He is SO in the spare bed tonight. As if I don't have enough to deal with already! Gah.

Re: Just an enormous vent - feel free to ignore

I think men cant help but be selfish. Its not in most of them to be "motherly", although yours is/was doing a great job, overall. As woman I guess we are supposed to overlook it. Heres my vent: Mine is a manager at a large facility. I've been on my own since the beginning. He growls at me to "lay down, you're doing to much", but yet he is never home to help. Kids are old enough to help but they just dont get it, because I'm up and moving around. So how does most of the housework and laundry get done? ME! Now i'm p.o. day 16 and having bleeding. I'm supposed to go back to work in another week, but still having pain throughout the "core" of my body all the time and everytime I'm up for the last week I bleed bright red. I did not lift but apparently to much. What do you do? Darned if you do or dont. My husband doesn't understand what I'm going through emotionally is the worst. I feel like I'm going to lose it. I'm depressed, frustrated, scared, irritated and mad. (Both ovaries removed, started on Depo for endo too) Hows that for a vent? Are there articles on here for men to read??

Re: Just an enormous vent - feel free to ignore

Hi sisters!! I know it is difficult to overlook things. I have a great hubby who has been very supportive and has jumped right in and done all but the dusting and vacuuming( kids do that).
You might want to steer the guys to the MrHyster Sisters site to read about what you t going through. And give your guys a hug and tell them how much you appreciate all the help. Men like to be patted on the back for every job they do..lol. And if you want something done, use your feminenly(?) wiles and ask and it will usually be given. Most men actually like to feel like they are our protectors and take care of us. I wish you the best of luck and overlook the rest till you are well healed!
