Why do they go to school? (another vent)

Just got home from my 6th week post op. My Dr is a nice lady but I felt I was being brushed off. I explained my concerns, the hot flashes with vomiting, the exhaustion, my memory issues. Her answer? They have nothing to do with her surgery on me!!!!!!! What!!!! When I said there was no way I was ready to go back to work next week, she said I had to go to my primary to have my FMLA extended, even though she wrote the first one. So I spent the am running back and forth. I love my primary, he just shook his head and asked when I wanted to go back. I figure what the heck, and took my Bday off lol. But for real??

How the heck can she say that all those symptoms are not related? I learned more in here then she ever told me. Ugh. I should pay yall lol. But hopefully new HRT pills, vitamins and some rest will get me back inline. Oh yeah the Dr said I can go back to whatever I want to do. I said yeah, now I can exercise a little to get ready for scuba. She said oh no problem you can scuba now. I just looked at her. Obviously she has never done it. I just cant toss 100 lbs of gear on my body and walk across sand 6 wks after having my innards ripped out sheesh.

Oh...So sorry to hear your appointment was not exactly enlightening!
I had a similar experience...didn't actually get to see the Consultant who operated on me and saw a Registrar instead (which seemed to be the norm at the clinic I attended). She did actually want to discharge me 2 minutes after I came into the room...I asked questions like you, about symptoms, the actual surgery, recovery etc but she really was not at all interested. She didn't seem to understand that the hysterctomy may not be a 'cure' for my endometriosis and wasn't at all concerned (I was!) about the possibility of remnants of endometrial implants being missed at surgery...(I just keep my fingers crossed and think positive on that one, despite ongoing back pain..)

I was raging at the time, but I figure I am doing fine and if I have any real problems, my own GP is very helpful.

I wish you well and for goodness sake no scuba diving!! (yet!)
