Scared

Hello ladies.I'm just posting because as it gets closer to my hyst date which is september 20th, the more I just want to call and cancel it.I've had many surgeries but for some reason this surgery scares me.I don't really know why this surgery scares me but it does.I can only talk to my mom and even she is probably getting tired of listening to me lol I try and talk to my fiance about it,but he doesn't really understand.all I really want from him is to just hold me and tell me everything will be okay lol

okay sry for venting a little but I just needed to get that off my chest.anyone else scared about their hyst?

Re: Scared

You are not alone. I was terrified for weeks before hand, however I believe its very normal to be scared when facing major surgery. You have come to the right place for support. This forum has been a life saver for me. Sending you positive thought and a cyber hug.

Re: Scared

Reading this made me remember right before my surgery and how anxious, scared and then terrified I was. I did go through with it and discovered that it wasn't that bad. It is natural to be fearful but what I found was to keep busy and just not think about it. If you have problems, talk to your doc and see if he can give you something for it. But just know, we were all in your shoes and made it.

Re: Scared

I'm right there with you. Mine is Sept 13th and I'm getting very anxious as well. I wish I could do it tomorrow to put it all behind me and be on the mend!

Re: Scared

You have every right to be scared, my advice is do not read post op side as this scared the**** out of me. My husband threatened to take my computer away or block the site lol. this is a great venue for women who are going through this however it could frighten you more.

Re: Scared

I am right there with you guys. I am going in Sept 13th. and the more I hear about it or think about it the more emotional and crazy I get. I have been told that emotions at times go crazy after surgery but they have gotten to be a bit much for me before hand. I'm ok 1 min, crying or ready to scream the next. Let's just hang on to each other and be there and I know we will get thru this.
God, Place your arms around all these ladies that are going to face this or have faced this. Give us strength and courage thru your love and mercy. Guide us, our emotions, our nerves and the doctors that will be working with us. We know that thru you Lord all things are possible and we will be well again. Thank you in Jesus name, Amen.

Re: Scared

thank you all.it is nice that I have other women to talk to that DO understand completely.I say Amen to yur prayer and wish you ladies that are scheduled before me all the luck and may god be with you during and after your surgries.

on another note off subject of bein scared..this is kind of a weird and embarressing question but I have to ask...

okay well during my intimate moments with my fiance,I really don't have any feeling in my vaginal wall...anyone else have this before your hyst and I can imagine that it isn't normal...sry for the question but I had to ask..curiosity and all.

oh and also when I had my pelvic/transvaginal ultrasound which was about 2 months ago,I was looking at it and I though during a normal ultrasound your vaginal wall was supposed to be all smooth looking???cuz mine looked like little pea sized bumps everywhere

Re: Scared

My LAVH is scheduled for Sept 7th. Whew! It is coming up fast. I am somewhat nervous, but I actually felt better after my preop work and Dr. visit. Everyone made me feel really comfortable. I think it is normal to be scared. I have moments when the fear creeps in.... I just busy myself with something else until it goes away! I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Hope your surgery goes smoothly with no complications.. and mine too!

Re: Scared

It is perfectly normal to be scared. I just had Davinci Lap. Hysterectomy on August 24th. I was very very scared this time last week. I am home now and doing fine. I read many scary things on here. Everyone is different and you will be fine. I put all my trust in God and the Dr. I had no swelling, no pain. I still have a ways to go but thankfully the worst is behind me. Good luck on your upcoming surgery. Keep us posted
