complications helppp

Hello, I am new here, I Had a TVH on october the 29th. Procedure seemed to go well, went home next day, was walking around same day..
Two days after surgery I started having severe chills and pain.. long story 6 days out from surgery was in emergency room, blood work showed I was according to doctors, "brewing a super infection) also a severe kidney infection (which I have never had one or a UTI), Since then I have had 3 blood draws infection is still present levels are still high, I go back tomorrow for more blood work, if still comes back high I will need iv antibiotics.. My abdomen is still very sore along with my back as well. Urinating frequently with pain at the end of urination. I am exhausted everyday, laying around most of the day, still taking narcotics atleast once a day along with motrin 800 or naproxen 500.. has anyone experienced any of this? 2 weeks out abdomen pain? Thanks!

Re: complications helppp

I had a post op kidney infection at about 3 or 4 weeks post op. The doc said it is common due to the catheter used for surgery. Hang in there, I know how painful this can be. Take all your antibiotics, drink lots of water and cranberry juice, and rest!!

Re: complications helppp

I had TVH that was divinci assisted. No complications. Pain after was absolutely horrible the first 2 weeks... I lived pain pill to pain pill. 3 weeks started to improve slightly... 4 weeks only taking pain meds at night as needed! Yah! 5 weeks much better.. Pain pill once in a while if I over do it and the tiredness is a killer. We just had major surgery! It is definitely not a walk in the park and much tougher than I though it would be! Hang In there.. Lots of rest and fluids and take meds as prescribed. You would be amazed at how much difference a week can make! Happy healing!

Re: complications helppp

Stay on top of your meds please!!

I had my da vinci removal (all but 1 ovary) and 2 weeks later, woke up with chills, fever, nasuea, etc. Went to the hospital, white blood cells through the roof and massive infection in pelvis. Ended up in the hospital for 4 days with iv fluids and antiboitics. Doctor let me go home 1 day early because the nurses wouldn't leave me alone and let me rest. Now I am on Rx meds for the next 3 months...
