spotting 12 weeks post op

Hi my name is Betsy. I'm 33 years old and had a hysterectomy after delivering my youngest in Sept due to the uterus hemorrhaging. I had stopped having discharge about a month ago. And just noticed this morning that I have some bright red blood showing only when I wipe. I have already called my OB and I'm waiting for thier call to see what they want to do. This is all new to me and friends my age that haven't had a hysterectomy. I have been very active since past week four due to having a 2 1/2 yr old and my youngest who is almost 3 months old. My husband deployed to Afghanistan two weeks after I gave birth. So I have alot to take care of alone. Any advice will be greatly appreciated because to be honest I feel lost with this recovery. Thanks again.

Do you have your cervix? You can still have what they call "mini periods" if a lady keeps her cervix.

Humm, You could just be a slow healer, and the stitches are still working themselves out? That spot takes forever for some ladies. Have you phoned you doctor?

And I do believe that if you aren't soaking a pad in a hour. It is normal at this stage in your recovery.

Re: spotting 12 weeks post op

Hey there, sorry to hear you're having a spotting issue. I had pretty much the same around week 12 post-op. Turned out just to be a slow healing cuff. Please, get it checked out though, peace of mind is invaluable. Do let us know how you get on and try and rest up a little extra where you can.

Re: spotting 12 weeks post op

I'm still waiting to hear from my Dr if they don't call by the end of today I will call again first thing in the morning. The bleeding is so slow. I'm nowhere near soaking a pad in two hours. I won't let it go since I had so many complications during delivery that lead to my hysterectomy.
