anxiety and more questions

I have 10 days to go for surgery and I feel I am running more and more questions through my head. One thing is the gyn/oncologist that I met with didnt really explain anything except the incision the prep and recovery. I have several fibroids and ovarian cysts as well as an enlarged uterous. When I spoke with the specialist Iexplained that occasionally I have a mucous plug type discharge that has brown blood in it. He asks me if it is sticky. Yes it is. He tells me that concerns him but doesnt say why what nothing. I had my tubes tied 17 years ago. So I start looking for anwsers and all I can find is ovulation and pregnancy...??THEN my daughter says mom what if you dont have a tumor what if youre pregnant? REALLY? SHE HAD TO THROW THAT INTO THE MIX? UGH since I have had an ultrasound and CAT scan I am pretty sure I can rule out a baby...RIGHT?
I think Im going crazy with all these questions and really feel silly asking but..
HELP PLEASE

Re: anxiety and more questions

I would think that it your be your healthcare providers ethical obligation to let you know if you were pregnant as quickly as possible. You should call your doctor and ask why that concerns him (or maybe the nurses can provide answers). You shouldn't be left in the dark though, its your body, and its your right to know whats going on with it. You deserve to have a gyn/onco who has good communication skills, you're not a medical experiment, you're a living, breathing person who deserves answers!

Hang in there

Re: anxiety and more questions

They will do a pregnancy test right before surgery, so if you ARE pregnant, you will know.
As for the discharge - that could be a number of things. My mind doesn't automatically go straight to pregnancy.
To be honest, the nerves got to me the most. The waiting is almost unbearable. I had so many panic attacks while waiting for my surgery it was insane!
Hugs, sister. It's going to be okay.

Re: anxiety and more questions

or you can go take a pregnancy test right now. I have a lot of discharge when I'm ovulating (or trying to ovulate) it varies from sticky to slippery. But not with blood in it. Maybe it is the blood he's worried about?
