2 wks post-op still having discharge?

hello sisters! today is my 2 wk since surgery day. i have been having to wear mini pads since day 1. I am still having watery, brownish discharge with a little pinkish tint also. i change my pads about 1-2 times a day. is this normal? i see some people who say they have no discharge at all, also, my post op appt. is not for over 2 more weeks. will the Dr. call me if any of my pathology reports come back negative or with any problems? wasn't sure if i should call to ask about them or just wait and see if they call me? i appreciate this site so much! i like reading on here much more than going on Facebook now!! so much good info and support that we dont get anywhere else! thank you!!

Re: 2 wks post-op still having discharge?

I think it is pretty normal for you to have some discharge at this stage in your recovery. I think it is more common with women who have had the LAVH and TVH. Just make sure you keep your eye on it and if it starts to be bright red blood, heavy (like a period), or with clots, you should call your immediately.

As far as your pathology goes, that is really up to you. I'm sure if you are really concerned about what was found, you could call them up and get a copy of the report. I asked for a copy at one of my post-op appointments, but honestly can't remember which one. (I had one at 3 days, 1 week, 2 week, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, and 8 weeks...and I'm going in for my last "post op" tomorrow!)

I'm thinking 2 weeks time is long enough that they should have your report back and shouldn't have any problem letting you know what was found.

to you in the rest of your recovery. Make sure you are taking it super easy and not over doing it. Keep an eye on that bleeding. Hopefully it stops for you soon!
