Mom's Surgery today at Noon

My Mom's surgery was at noon....anyone know how long a TAH/BSO might last?

Mine was only 1 1/2 hours, but then I had a lap for RSO and adhesion lysis and it lasted 3 hours. I guess it all depends on what they find when they get inside and whether they have complications or not.

Try not too get too worried. Wishing your mother an uncomplicated surgery and recovery.

And what makes it worse, is I won't be with her until Thanksgiving, so I'm even more worried about her

My dr. told me a TAH lasts from 40 minutes up to 4 hours depending on how extensive the surgery is. I hope everything goes well for your mom. Try not to worry too much.

Is someone suppose to call you when she comes out of surgery? Does she have plenty of help once she gets home? Does she know about this website and training?

One good thing about it being Thanksgiving before you get to see her is that she will probably feel more like visiting then.
