Re: Feeling Depressed, Alone

It's normal for your emotions to be all over the place now. You're not alone in those feelings. Trust me the anticipation of surgery is FAR WORSE than the actual surgery. When it's over you'll wonder why you were so crazy before it. Try to get your recovery space ready and include some things that will make you feel comforted. I bought new polar fleece sheets and made my bed up with them before I left for the hospital. When I got home it was so nice to crawl under those soft comfy sheets. Hang in there and let us know how things are going.

Re: Upcoming hysterectomy 10/5: Feeling Depressed, Alone

It's tough - the decision to have surgery, then the wait were actually far worse than the recovery. I don't know if it would help, but what I did was focus all that worry, and stress into being more active - getting in even better shape than I was already in. To the result of running my fastest 5k ever the day before surgery.

I think because of that - recovery has been relatively easy for me. Though I did get to keep my cervix and ovaries.

Good luck
