2weeks post op and blood in urine

Hi lovely ladies
This is my first post so hello. I had TAH & BSO on 16th july (I'm 31) recovery going well. I had bleeding after surgery as expected (nothing to heavy) and the bleeding subsided a few days ago but yesterday I thought the bleeding had returned but I think its coming from my urine (sorry tmi). Now I don't think I have an infection as I dont have any other symptoms (just a bit of tummy pain which I think is post op pain) is this normal or should I he worried see the doctor?
Many thanks
Ann-Marie

Re: 2weeks post op and blood in urine

Hi Welsh_Annie!
I would definitely ring the doc if you have blood in your urine, sounds like an infection to me.

At week 2 I ended up with a nasty bladder infection, but didn't have a lot of the classic signs (no burning etc) and I too thought the pain was just "recovery pain" the pain was behind my bikini incision... but it got to the point I called the doc, went in and did a culture and I had a hospital acquired bladder infection, I got some antibiotics and some pills that make my urine bright orange and all that "recovery pain" went away.

Hang in there Sis!

Re: 2weeks post op and blood in urine

In my experience with Peeing blood it's VERY painful. Peeing blood feels like Peeing razor blades. Trying to wipe just that area it would be fairly red blood as well. .. If you think you do have a bladder or uti, definitely call the Dr. You don't want that out of control. I've had too many to count.. Drink lots of water. Hope u feel better soon.

Blood in urine is not a good thing. Call the doctor so they can check it out.
