Re: Swollen Lymph Nodes Underarm

Have you been drinking a lot of caffeine? I constantly have swollen lymph nodes in my armpits even before the hysterectomy. I was told by my GYN that it is caused by caffeine. I drink a lot of it. She said she could do a mammogram, but didn't think it would show anything. When I drink less caffeine the swelling goes down.

Re: Swollen Lymph Nodes Underarm

That is so odd. I also have one swollen lymph node under my right arm that showed up two weeks after surgery. One year later, two ultrasounds, a mammogram, and a couple of doctors later, it is still there. No one seems to be worried about it so I have quit worrying too. Apparently the shape on the ultrasounds show it to be normal. When I asked my gyn about this, he said it was unrelated to the surgery as did the other two doctors. I kind of wondered if it had to do with getting my underarms waxed before surgery but it isn't sore and it is a lymph node. So I don't know what to think of it all. As for you, please go and get it checked out.

Re: Swollen Lymph Nodes Underarm

Hi just thought about this too! Lymphatic system helps us detox our body. My lymph nodes have been full since surgery too and before. With all the meds and anesthesia its no wonder. They do go down when I do a little lymphatic massage.
It is a light pressure pulling or pumping of the superficial tissue. The main pump to start with is right behind the clavicle bone. Press lightly (nickle coin weight of pressure)with your 3 fingers right behind ur clavicle bone. Pull tissue towards the middle of your neck in a pumping action. pull count 1-1000 2-2000 3-3000 then zero pressure at the middle of ur neck each time. Your pumping the lymph area that goes to the main lymph duct of the body.
Do not do this if cancer is a possibility or any other contraindications. Please ask ur doc about it too!
If I didnt explain good please find a lymph specialist in your area or google lymphatic massage technique. A full body lymphatic treatment is very healing.
