2 Weeks Post Op pain

Hi ladies,

I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy 2 weeks ago and I was doing well up until last week. I started getting the chills when going to the bathroom because of the pain. It doesn't burn like an infection - It feels like my insides are just going to fall out and it's worse with a BM. I've taken stool softeners and it doesn't seem to help, just going to the bathroom is killing me. Anyone else having any issues with this? Also I've had a fever on and off through out the day. I'm going to the Dr for my follow up appt tomorrow but has anyone else been having this issue? Is it normal in the healing process or something to be concerned about?

Thanks, Kathy

Re: 2 Weeks Post Op pain

Sorry for all you're going through Kathy.

We had surgery on the same date. I've been having a lot of "two steps forward, one step back" sort of days. I do still have a bit of pain with a BM, but nothing like what you describe. I do think the feeling like the insides are falling out is pretty normal as the rest of our internal organs are trying to figure out where they want to be now that the uterus is gone.

I'm glad you're going to your doctor tomorrow - tell him what you've said here and I'm sure he'll have some ideas.

Sending lots of good thoughts to you.

Re: 2 Weeks Post Op pain

It could be the normal healing process...but you still need to see the doctor just to play it safe...I'm worried about you running a temp. Get it check. Get checked out soon to avoid problems. Please let us know what the doc says...~Hugs~
