12 days post hysterectomy: I'm dying to get in my pool; super frustrated

Hello

Im new here, but I've been "lurking" since I found out I was having a hysterectomy.
I had a total hysterectomy, I still have my ovaries but that's it.
I have endometriosis and adenomyosis.

Recovery is ok, but I'm dying to get in my pool. It's a salt water pool and my tummy stitches are out, sutures healed.... I'm guessing the concern is water getting into my vagina?
Is there a way to keep water from getting in?

Im super frustrated at all the things I CANT do. I'm not cleared for sex until 8 wks post op.
Im getting married at 6.5 weeks post op.
Surely you see the problem here....
I need advice, hope, hacks for getting through this.... no one my age that I associate with has had this done. They don't understand. I'm just so frustrated and depressed.

Adding to that: I haven't bled since the day after my surgery.

I live in Texas, had my surgery in July. I followed the doctor's restrictions to a T. This may test your patience, but given the potential long term consequences, a few weeks of restrictions versus a lifetime of issues was a far better option for me!

and

Recovery sure can be frustrating, especially when there are things we'd like to do that are on the "can't do" list. It's very important that you follow your doctor's orders. If your doctor didn't spell things out for you, call to ask what is and is not okay. Since your cervix was removed, you now have a vaginal cuff that needs to be completely healed before you can swim, take a bath, go in a hot tub, engage in any type of sexual activity, etc. unless your doctor has given you clearance to do otherwise.

You'll find plenty of recovery information in the Post-Op Page to use as you heal. Join others who had surgery the same week as you for the purpose of sharing recovery updates on this thread.

Best wishes for your recovery!
