Just want to get back to normal...

Hi everyone, I'm 7 days post op (4 days in hospital and 3 at home) and I'm just stir crazy. I had vaginal hyst, rectocele repair, bladder suspension, and vaginal vault suspension. I also acquired mono at some point and the symptoms showed up day 2 post op. So needless to say, I've been very sore and tired. However, everyday is better, the rectocele repair has probably been the most painful or uncomfortable. I've been feeling better everyday and felt like I could walk around the grocery store today with my mom, it was a diasaster! I was so tired and sore and couldn't wait to get home. How long will it take to do things like this, Christmas is a few days away and I need to pick up a few things...any chance I might can do it next week? Anyone have any experience with these surgeries and recovery??? Thanks!!

Hey Yotbin, I'm reading your post as I'm sitting out in the car waiting for my mom to return to the car with the groceries from the list I gave her. I couldn't imagine walking in a store right now (had TAH 12/8/10). I also plan to order the rest of my Christmas presents online. I'm stir crazy, too, but definitely plan to take it easy. Please do the same!

My rectocele repair is much longer/harder than the hysto part of it. I am 6 weeks out today. I would say by week 3 - I was feeling like getting out and doing things. Perhaps the end of week 2.

Thanks LindaAmelia...maybe I'll be the same and can get out and about the end of next week, that gives me hope!
