pap smear

Hi girls. It has been a while since my last post but things are very well. My GYN told me that i only need a pap smear every three years now even though i have everything except my uterus. I have never had a "bad" pap but what are all your doctors recommending?

mine recommends yearly paps. i like it yearly because i get a good breast exam, schedule my mammogram, get my hemoglobin and thyroid checked. i dont go to the dr's inbetween so i'll continue with the yearly exam.

Hello! It has been even longer since my last posting but things have been great... I too have everything but my uterus. My doctor told me at my last visit a few weeks ago, that I can start coming every 2 years for a pap. But, during this pap, she felt something hard in my abdomin and ordered an ultrasound. Low and behold after an MRI confirmation, I have a 9 cm cyst! That's larger than the fibroids I had before my hyster! Now, I need an oorephectomy which is why I have returned to this wonderful site...

So in answer to your question, my doctor recommended every 2 years...

I had everything removed & my Dr. said see you next year for your pap at my 6 week post op!

I kept my cervix and ovaries and my dr said I should still have an exam every year.
