Help - still in pain at 5wks post op. Scar Tissue?

Hi
has anyone out there suffered with internal scar tissue and had to have another Lap? I'm 5 weeks post op after a Lap/Vag Hysto? After the op all was fine and after two weeks i felt great apart from contracting ESBL E Coli from the hospital and experiencing alot of pain on urinating which is there most of time but worse when going to the loo and generates into my back. I have had 5 lots of anti biotics and now clear of infection but still in pain. I have had scans but to no avail so now I am now having another lap to look for scar tissue . IS THIS COMMON? I feel like i have a huge rubber band aroung my insides and it's depressing me.

Would love to hear from any one please

Andrea xx

Are they talking about doing another lap soon? You may want to get a second opinion before they do surgery again. I assume there was nothing on the CT scan to show what is causing your pain. I pray they find out what is wrong and it is an easier repair. Please keep us updated. I will be thinking of you.

was your infection internal or in the bladder or kidney?

My daughter had an internal infection at one point and it caused her whole insides to get raw, then formed adhesions. I took her to a gyn, and they did some sort of short stay surgery to cut the adhesions and put in some sort of gel to keep them from reattaching while they healed. In a few weeks she was fine.

A second opinion is a good thing too, and be sure to get as much info as you can, so that you will be able to know what they are thinking, planning and what you can expect. I hope it is simple to fix for you. Kitty

Well, I never thought of my daughter as a nuisance. So don't think of it that way. take the teen approach. the world owes you a recovery. LOL

I want to tell you, she felt so much better after her lap or whatever they did on her (13 years ago) that she was so grateful I took her. she was a bit tender for a couple days, but by the end of a week was complaining of the gel making her feel bloated. LOL I just told her to be glad she didn't have that pain anymore. It changed her tune right fast. teehee Kitty
