Oh, boy, where to begin??

First of all, some of the characteristic symptoms of adenomyosis are: heavy bleeding that doesn't seem to end -- a period will go on with spotting in between; passing clots (very suspicious for adeno); back pain and rectal pain (can be a sign that the uterus is tipped, or "retroflexed"). You may be anemic, too, which can lead to other symptoms.

Like AK, I would have pain that would have doubled me over -- I would just keep breathing through it, as it would often occur while I was with patients (crumpling to the floor in agony not being an option ). Even now, if I don't take my Prometrium, I get searing pain through my pelvis; luckily with me, it never lasts more than half an hour or so, and it's still MUCH better than it ever was before!

Hope this helps! We have a Resources Forum with links to a lot of endo and adeno information; especially good is the Endometriosis Association's website (linked in "Endo/Adeno Resources").

Good luck to you, and I hope you're finding the answers you seek.
