Dragging and Weight

It has been about 3 1/2 months (surgery February 21st) since surgery. While for the most part I feel fine, there's other things going on.

Of course there was a mental fog that got better over time. Right now I've jumped up to 230 pounds and while I am totally miserable with that, I am lacking motivation. Normally I am the type of person that can push myself.....be my own cheerleader, but can't get my pom poms in the air. I am just dragging along in a lot of areas.

Any of you ladies have this issue? Did you fix it and what did you do?

Just feeling blah....

Re: Dragging and Weight

I'm not at that point yet - only about 2 1/2 weeks into my recovery. But I have that dragging feeling a lot, and I can imagine what you are going through. I know that a lot of us gals are in the same boat.

Sorry I can't help, just know that we are all out here cheering you on!!!!

Re: Dragging and Weight

I'm so sorry to hear it! I've had ups and downs in the recovery period. PMS post-op has been dragging me down and sucking the energy out of me and there seem to be a few days when I can barely think about getting out of bed....but just manage to shuffle to the couch! Did you keep your ovaries? This far out I think a call to your doctor might be a good idea to see what s/he might recommend. It's so hard feeling low and unmotivated and knowing you are and want to feel different. Sending lots of (((hugs))))

Re: Dragging and Weight

Hi Whitneyji - yes I did keep my ovaries. Yesterday when I got home, I cooked dinner and went to my room. Started nodding off but made myself get up and go for 45 minute walk. Thank you for support and hope all is well with you.

Re: Dragging and Weight

HI Tink47...I felt the same, I have lost alot of weight over the years and was disappointed to find about 15 pounds over my recovery. I decided that now that none of my pants fit that I worked too darn hard to give up. I weigh in weekly at a group, which helps. I also started walking each morning for 30 minutes, and I cycle outside for 40 minutes in the afternoon. But mostly I am watching what I eat. it was hard to be motivated as we are sitting on the couch not able to do much. You can do it!
