tummy pain

Hi Bev,

I'm not quite sure what you mean by tummy. Sorry about that. I know that I had a huge problem with gas and that even to press lightly on my abdomen hurt a lot. Here where I live we don't have Gas-X but I did find the equivalent which really helped me tremendously.

I don't know if this is what's bothering you at all but I can only tell you about my experiences and give you advice on what helped me a lot. I stayed away from anything carbonated and walked a lot. Both of these made a huge difference.

If you feel that something else might be wrong with you, it might be a good idea just to phone your doc.'s surgery to get some advice or reassurance.

Just remember that we are all one big happy family and that we're all in this together. You are not alone.

I hope you feel better soon and I'll keep you in my thoughts.

tummy pain

Hi Bev

It really does sound like gas to me.

Try eating little and often but nothing spicy, drink lots and try to walk. I know it is painful but even slow laps around the room will help. It is a bit chicken and egg, if you don't walk you won't get the gas moving but it hurts so you don't want to walk so the gas stays put and you continue to hurt.

It really will help!

tummy pain

I have this problem. I had lots of pain after surgery, internal. and I am at post op day 11 and when I am up standing/walking, I get pelvic aching/pressure that will begin to radiate up to the tummy area. The area around my incision will swell too. So I have spent more time horizontal than I would like. Not sure why I am having more pain, but the nurses in the hospital told me that my dr. likes to stitch everything TIGHT to avoid future prolapse. I really think a lot of our variations have to do with our surgeons particular technique, how rough/gentle they were with our insides, etc.
