2 days post -hysterectomy

Came home yesterday with a catheter which I am not excited about but it is better than not being able to pee.

Surgery took 3 hours. My husband got to to see pictures of my uterus and inside my vagina after everything was repaired. He said the uterus was about the size of a large apple.

Everything went well. The bladder repair took a bit longer then anticipated. I tried peeing several times I could feel it right there but nothing.

Pain is manageable. Put hubby's sweat pants on to hide the cath bag and went to the store with him then took a nap when we got home.

So far I have just had cramps and then the gas pain up in my shoulders.

Sounds like you are doing well, although not feeling great.Give it time, and you will be much better in a few weeks.

I know that it feels rough right now, but none of that sounds out of the ordinary. Remember your job now is to rest and rest some more. Have you visited your recovery thread? There you can interact with other women who have had surgery the same week as you and can recover together, and encourage each other. Mine helped me a lot.
