Wounded scar...
9 weeks post op tomorrow and still dealing with about an inch of wound opening. Also see a Wound Care Specialist and have the spray cleaner and wound gel. One of the incision areas already closed the other one real slow to heal. The incision was closed by a plastic surgeon who did a post TAH BSO tummy tuck dermabond closure. It gives me solace that I am not alone. Guess it doesn't matter what kind of surgeon closes you. There can always be problems. I see the specialist every week and can't wait to be done. The ends of the incision are well ahead of the middle of this 24 inch scar. I am putting vitamen e on the non crusted and closed areas of the scar. ALSO, specialist advised me to use Dial soap as it was ph balanced. I was using anti-bacterial Lever soap as opposed to my traditional Dove, but I switched to Dial. Who knows if it helps, but I thought I would pass along. Also, for healing..very important..vitamins, protein, sleep (you heal when you sleep)..iron if anemic. Whacky blood sugars can impede healing (I am also drug dependent Type II) So, with all this, for the open wounded, let's get our wounds better so we can then complain about uncomfortable SEX!!!!! Good luck to all.

Same here
This is very interesting ((robs)), because I thought that I was the only one that had problems with the cut. I had stitches in my vagina, because my dr tried to take my Uterus out of my vagina, but couldn't, then he went for my lower abdomen and gave me quite a long scar. My doctor had already put stitches in my vagina, and then he put stitches and staples in my abdomen. So the first day that I was out of surgery, don't remember what I did, but I spilt my stitches and a couple staples on my right hand side. The person came into my room to take some blood, put a bandage on it and left, as I was laying there I felt something wet on my side, I thought that maybe the bandage wasn't working on my arm. As the nurse came into the room, he saw he looking for something, and asked me what was I looking for? He picked the sheet up on the right side and the staples were popped as well as the stitches, blood was pouring out of the cut as if someone had turned some water on. A surgeon had to come into the room and stop the bleeding. He cleaned the cut where it came open, and stopped the blood, now I am still having problems with the side that came open. I looks as if my abdomen is closing a little, except for that right side that spilt open that looks even worst.
I am still able to shower, but I have to really watch out for that area, and whether you rub that part of not, it still hurts a like. I haven't tried putting any oils on it yet, but I will ask the dr today when I go.

soaps
Now that's the first that I ever heard about the different soaps to use, I usually use Dove soap for my body, mostly because I have very dry skin, but Dial makes me even more dry. I am a Diabetic, so maybe that's why I'm healing very slowly, but I have been trying to stay up on my Sugar levels, I am on a Insulin Pump. A couple of times my Sugar level have went up pretty high, but I try to stay on it, along when I was in the castle I wasn't getting any insulin at all, I was so happy to come back home to my own medicine. But I see that you mentioned "Sex" well all I need to know is, "What is That?"
