bleeding after hysterectomy almost 2 yrs later

I had a hysterectomy in Jan 2008, and this morning I discovered that I had bled a small amount in my pajamas overnight. Has anyone else done this before and is this normal or should I be concerned? I had a complete hysterectomy--uterus, cervix, one ovary and fallopian tube removed, so I am left with one ovary, but its not functioning and I am in menopause at age 33. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I know it can be scary! This has occurred for me a few times over the years!

There are a wide range of reasons for the blood you just found. One, hormonal imbalance can cause vaginal dryness which can lead to some bleeding. Bladder issues can allow for some bleeding. You may be having some problems with your vaginal cuff. I also noticed you had your hysterectomy for endometriosis--that can cause some bleeding. Sexual intercourse can sometimes cause some bleeding.

Whatever you do, don't panic! Do give your doctor's office a call and ask if you should be checked.

I went to see my doctor last Friday and she wanted to schedule an ultrasound that day...but I had too much going on at work to be gone to 2 appointments, so Monday I had an ultrasound done and I'm just waiting to see what is going on. But the longer I wait the better the news I'm thinking.

Well the only ovary I have left is enlarged and has a cyst so I am being referred to yet another doctor......
