vegetarian now craving chicken after hysterectomy!

I've been a vegetarian for over 20 years and since I had my total just on 4/14, I've been craving chicken! Not just any chicken: crispy, crunchy KFC kind of chicken What's the deal with that!?
My MD says it's because my body needs protein to heal

I think your doctor is right. My DH had an emergency surgery last fall. When I commented to his doctor that I couldn't believe bacon cheeseburgers were on the menu for him to eat, the doctor stated it was because surgery patients need protein to heal. Years ago when I had my hysterectomy and some complications, my surgeon ordered that I drink two High Protein Boosts every single day for ages because I needed the protein to heal and get well.

If eating chicken until you have recovered is not an option, you may need to ask your doctor or nutritionist for some tips on how to provide your body with the extra protein it needs right now while still maintaining your vegetarian diet.

I think your doctor is right too!

This is so funny because I have been craving meat as well! The thought of it before made me gag! I have not wanted any bread which I loved bread. I've been eating a lot of chicken and shrimp. I think our bodies tell us what we need and hormones are what we women "run on"
