~Funniest Brain Fog moments since surgery~

I just had to ask...lol Since my surgery and I am sure many of yours I have been stuck in the world of brain fog. In between trying to remember when to take my hormones, wondering what in the heck is this new pain, why am I tired, and all of the other millions of things that go through my head since having surgery I have realized that there are things that I say, do, put things somewhere, etc, that I don't remember or take me a while to remember. Usually I am also a very articulate person...HA! That is a feat lately..lol I will be in the middle of a conversation and be like, What was I saying? Where was I going with that? What were we talking about???...lol The funny thing is... Kids catch on to this VERY quickly and so do husbands...lol They laugh at me, which I laugh too cause it is kind of funny.
Like this moment.........
On the way home from getting my kids I thought that I would go get my step son from his grandparents house on the way home since they live right down the street. That was the thought. In a moment it was gone when I asked my son something about school. That is where I got side tracked...lol Instead of turning down the road to go home, I turned down the road to go to my step son's grandparents house and I instantly said.... Where am I going??? The kids busted out laughing and were like, I don't know. I said... I know I am going somewhere, where was I going... This of course caused them to roll with laughter... They were like did you want to go here, there, trying to help me remember while lauging...lol And I was cracking up going shhhh, I will remember in a min...LOL We got to the street before the grandparents house when I was like OH! I am going to get my step son.....DUH!!!!....lol
I am hoping that I don't do this forgetting something important, but that was kind of funny

Too funny. My brain is on like some kind of train of it's own for sure. Today I was trying to say the name of the show David Hasselhoff was on and I said oh yeah "Babewatch" and I totally thought I said it "Baywatch" until DH laughed cause I would never say something like that. And then I thought how the heck did that come out? Wow, glad I am not back at work yet! LOL!

I have been handling reservations for two large hockey related events here this weekend. I figured since I was home what was the big deal! Receive info in the mail, take calls and answer questions, run tally and reservations sheets.......

Well somehow I had a Richard Burton registered for the game and the show and no one had any idea who this guy was! I should mention that all the folks I am supposed to be dealing with are alumni of our university. So I start plowing through the stacks of checks and there is someone with a similar name but definitely not Burton....okay not even similar...they both started with B and that was it. So I called him and had to ask him if he was the person I had spoken to! He laughed his butt off....said he thought I sounded a little foggy on the phone!

Then yesterday another former player called to ask about picking up his tickets and I'm telling him "Tim I don't have any reservations for you!" Same thing but the last names didn't even start with the same letter! His last name starts with a T and I had written Tim Collins!!! Don't know if I was thinking of Phil Collins or wanted a Tom Collins or what! lol

The downside fog story is not remembering that my friend had had a terrible accident the day before my surgery. I had no recollection of it and then someone called to tell me he had passed away after being in a coma for almost 3 weeks and wanted to make sure I knew about the wake and funeral. Ugh! That stunk!

Mskayjay,

You had me laughing
and crying...

So sorry about your friend.

But you reminded me of one more... Right after I got to the hospital room, the nurse told me they had a private room for me. I was so thrilled and then fell asleep. Only to awaken to my nearly deaf roommate asking for the TV Remote!

I thought oh dear, I was dreaming... but just at that moment the nurse came back and said they were moving me, I thought she was an angel!!!

My worst brain fog happened one morning when I was getting dressed. I was standing in the bathroom with my toothbrush in my hand just staring at it. Don't know how long I'd been standing there when my husband asked me what the heck was I doing and I told him I honestly couldn't remember what I was fixing to do. He told me that with a toothbrush in my hand could I possibly have been fixing to brush my teeth? I looked at the toothbrush and it hit me, I was getting the toothpaste out of the drawer! DUH!

I do this at least once a day, and have me and my DH just laughing hysterically. "Where was I going with this?" is a common one. But, the only problem is, I can't remember most of them! Otherwise I'd let you laugh hysterically at me as well!

Oh, I did that after surgery too. The first things I said when I woke up was, I think I had a dream...lol I remember the nurse telling me that I couldn't have, then I started to tell her about it and passed out again,...lol I really think that I had a dream, but can't remember it at all. It was really a wizard of oz moment...you were there and you, and you.....LOL

I think the worst is not remembering where you parked your car. One Very Bad Day, I had to call my mother to come help me look. I thought some one had stolen it. We found it after an hour. I went home and still today, will not talk about it with her or any family members. I'm O.K. guys, it is getting better.
