You need DH or someone in hospital the first night
I just had my surgery on Dec. 13 and was advised by my RN-daughter to have my DH stay the night with me. I didn't think it was so necessary, but she insisted so he stayed the night.
Thank goodness he was there! The alarm on my leg things [the ones that keep you from having blood clots] went off due to a twisted cord and it kept beeping for 10 or more minutes. I had previously called down to the nurses station for more paid meds and had no response. He ended up going to the station to get help turning off the machine and for the medication.
In addition, I needed help placing a pillow under my back, reaching things and so forth. I don't know what I would have done if he had not been there for me.
Please consider asking someone to be with you that first night and good luck to you. Blessings!
