Pain from Lapo Site

Question for anyone that had laparoscopic surgery: I'm having pain and a stretching feeling from the larger incision area where the doctor said he used as the "main" point. How long does it last and is this normal. It pulls and is uncomfortable a lot...(post op from surgery 4/13)

Re: Pain from Lapo Site

GmatoMadi,
Sorry you are having trouble with your incision area. I had the laparoscopic hysterectomy also. Mine was on the 28th of April and I haven't felt anything like what you are feeling. I don't feel any type of stretching or otherwise at any of the incision sites. I think you may want to make an appointment to get in to see your doctor and make sure things are okay.
Hope you feel better soon.

Re: Pain from Lapo Site

I've had pain and pulling at my main lap incision site too. Try cold or hot compresses, whichever feels good. It could be adhesions forming, try gentle massage if that's what you suspect. Definately talk to Dr if you feel need to, as mine said to me yesterday - no question is stupid or insignificant. Worry impeads your recovery due to stressing you out. ~ Jen

Thanks for your input! If I push in on it it feels better...weird? I don't know, I'll try your suggestions though. Appreciate it!

Re: Pain from Lapo Site

I am three days post op with bad pain near that same incision site--pressure relieves mine too. Did it subside for you? What was wrong or do you know yet? I got more meds tonight and have to go back to see my doc but I was looking to see if anyone else had similar stories.

Re: Pain from Lapo Site

I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy also, i felt the same way, i would put a heating pad on but not too hot, and it would help me.. If you had stitches its normal my doctor told me it was.. Well i hope this helps you.. And if you just dont feel right call your doctor, its better sometimes just to know your ok...
