Question For those with Lupron Experience

I had my last Lupron shot on August 8th. (This was the third shot. I am doing the monthly shots. My doc decided all we needed was three, and with the hotflashes I have been having, I am thrilled to be done!) My LAVH is scheduled for 9-11. What are the chances I will get a period again before then?!

After my first shot in June I had the worst period of my life. In July, I had probably what the average person would consider a normal period (a few days of light to moderate bleeding), and in August I had no period.

I'm just wondering if there is a chance that I will have another period before surgery...

I did 6 months of lupron but it was about 10 years ago. I didnt have periods while on lupron. And it took about 3 months for them to come back after the injections stopped. Why did you have lupron? endo?

I was on the Lupron shots but got 1 shot every three months for 6 months total. I started that in May 07 and did not get my period until April 08. I hope this helps.

I am doing the lupron to shrink my fibroids. I did 6 months of Lupron about 10 years ago before a myomectomy, and it shrunk everything to almost nothing (she had to call in a pathologist to make sure she got it all!). But, the fibroids came back and with a vengence over the last few years. We decided on three months of Lupron, because she did not want them to shrink down to nothing, just to a size so that a LAVH could be done.

In addition, my blood count was down to 9.1, and since the Lupron is supposed to stop periods, we were also trying to build up my blood before surgery. Of course, I am not sure that first month helped at all!

I did a 6-month course of Lupron about 7 years ago. It took about 2 months for my period to come back afterward. I don't know if the length of time you're on the drug affects how long it takes for periods to resume, so you might want to ask your doc what to expect.

I took Lupron for 6 months it took a few months before my period started again. Doc actually gave me premarin to get it started..
