Anxious - endometrial cancer found incl. in two lymph nodes

I just posted on the regular hysterectomy site, but I think this is a better place for me. I had a da Vinci hyst a week ago today. I am healing very well and taking it very easy and resting alot. I have learned that from other surgeries. They took everything plus 6 lymph nodes. Two of the 6 were metastatic adenocarcinoma. My Dr. is out of town, so I am trying to make sense of all the terminology myself. As you can imagine I am a bit anxious, but have a great support system. I pray all of you are healing well. God Bless

Re: Anxious - endometrial cancer found incl. in two lymph nodes

Hi teeth,

I am glad you found us and know the many wonderful women here will offer support and provide info re any issues, etc.

A cancer dx is very scary bu remembert there is so much that can be done now to prevent recurrences, etc. May I ask if your doctors recommended follow up treatment yet? As I recall many who have lymph node involement seem to receive radiation or chemo; etc. Pls ask any questions and don't be afraid to come on to vent or possible just for a hug when that may help. We are here for you.

Thanks Peggie Sue: It is scary, and I do not know what treatment will be recommended yet. O coarse my Dr. chose this week to be out of town, and I am left in my own head. Thankfully, our youngest daughter is 23 today, and I am on a quest for balloons today. That should help us both.

Re: Anxious - endometrial cancer found incl. in two lymph nodes

Hi teeth,

to your daughter and may the celebration be joyful for all. Just what the doctor ordered to get your mind off things if only for awhile.

Living in the moment and appreciating every day is good for all of us, perhaps it is the one "good" thing cancer taught me. I also try not to sweat the little things and to worry less( was a super worrier - and in fact I have been successful.
I am sure your doctor will find the right treatment for you and the further one moves from the surgery and/or post op treatments, the easier it becomes to "forget" the beast. When things seem very unsettling, etc. just drop in here and I am sure many of our wise "sisters in arms" will come by and perhaps help make things look less grim, etc. or at the least share their experiences.

It is awful to get news like that and then have your doctor go off and there you sit with your nerves. I pray your doctors will figure out the right treatment and you will get through it and be cancer-free.

And happy birthday to your daughter!!

Re: New and scared based on what I read

Just got the path report, and it is not what I had hoped for. I have to have Radiation and Chemo....The unknown is always the worst, but my experience with this is only second hand. Any advice as to what to ask my Dr.?
