Thank you ! You nailed it on hospital pack list

I carefully read all of the suggestions on this board for the hospital bag I brought yesterday and I am so grateful.

I brought all of the essentials:
Tummy pillow
Lip balm
Phone charger
Brush
Hair tie
Eye mask & ear plugs
Lotion
Entertainment
Slippers

And I added:
Purse Mirror
Cozy socks
Moist wipes
Reading glasses
Herbal Tea bags
IPhone earbuds
Notebook & Pen

Almost everything has come in super handy.

I am especially thrilled that I brought my own cozy socks and slippers since the hospital socks were ill fitting and uncomfortable.

I found awesome slippers on Amazon for $15 that the nurses approved for walking the floors: Super Soft Cozy Slippers with Slip-Resistant Bottom Sole.

I also brought Premium Soft Warm Microfiber Fuzzy Socks to wear in bed. Both the slippers and the socks made me much more comfortable.

Another life saver was my Aroma Home Lavender Silk Eye Mask. When the nurse's assistant flipped on the bright lights at 2:30 am to check my vitals, having my mask was crucial. It (and ear plugs) really helped me sleep better.

Bringing my own tea bags was another good call- it was nice having good tea and a taste of home.

I think I've used just about everything else I brought - my little mirror- lip balm- reading glasses.

One thing I missed- The preOp nurse talked me out of bringing my own nightgown and robe. She was right about the gown, but I wish I had brought my own light robe for my walks.

Something else that really helped me were listening to Dr Martin Rossman's surgery tapes on Audible. Listening on my iPhone and earbuds was very relaxing and healing. I truly think those visualization tapes made a difference in my surgery.
