Got Lab results -- bullet dodged...

Wow. I went to my dr today, and got a perscription for more pain meds. Said I was looking good, still healing and progressing ahead of schedule. (ok that last part suprised me...)

BUT while I was there, he says I made the right call in opting for the hysterectomy. You see, I had a cone biopsy back in Sept, and the margins came back clean. Which should mean they got all the bad cells. But we talked about it afterwards, and he said that if you were done with childbearing years I'd really recommend the hysterectomy, as a precautionary. By this time, I had done my pro/con list, and life being as it is, decided to have the surgery.

So for me, it seemed just really a precautionary manuever, one that I'd get out of the way now, instead of later and I was sure I'd have to later anyway. To me it seemed way to quick to go from a normal pap to an abnormal pap that showed cancer.

So... the lab results after surgery showed an canerous group of cells in the cervix. The dr said by having the hysterectomy now, I saved my life.

I think I might be in shock...
