WooHoo! I'm done. A message for LIW ...

I had my last post-op appt today - FIVE weeks after my surgery. I'm cleared to return to normal life. I still will gear up slowly - just the internal exam was a little more than I wanted to bother with today - but I'm confident all is healing well. I don't have to see my DR for another year!

I had a LAVH/BSO on 05/07. I needed a hyst for pain, a suddenly enlarged uterus, and multiple fibroids which, after 10 years, became symptomatic. My insurance pre-approval was for excessive bleeding. I had NO energy the months prior to the hyst.

I started on the .1 mg Climera patch but had a few problems on it so got switched to the .05 mg V-dot patch. I'm much happier with that.

Today I started looking at my eating habits. I gained weight when the fibroids were growing and I'd like to lose it now. I'll start exercising in a couple of months. In the meantime I get to take the grandchildren swimming and be intimate with my husband (at completely separate times and places, of course).

This experience has been wonderful. My recovery was quick and largely uneventful. This is by far the easiest surgery I ever had. I had general-A and NO problems at all with that.

I know as a LIW you're probably nervous, scared, worried and wondering. I don't know what to tell you except I'm so excited to have my life back! I feel like myself again. I've wanted this hyst since I was in my mid-30's. I'm now 45 and feel like I've been robbed of 10 years of a productive life. I hope you ALL have as good an experience as I have.

Remember, you're having this hyst to correct an unhealthy condition. You have to take care of yourself as much NOW as you expect you will post-op. Post-op you're (probably) going to feel BETTER than you do as a LIW.

Good Luck! And Best Wishes to Everyone!

Thank you

Oh, Thank you so much for understanding just what us LIW are going through. I'm proud of all the improvements you have made. Way to go.

I can't wait until I can become a Post Princess!

The castle awaits and I can't wait to feel "healing" pain instead of what each day brings now!

I agree~!

The best time for a LIW is the post castle enjoyment of knowing that I don't have to endure all the pain, and symptoms that go along with poor hormone balances. I'm very happy for you~! I'm glad to hear that you are getting your life back and I'm sorry that you were made to wait so very long.

HUGS
