TAH Hyster with Appendectomy?

Anyone wake up to learn that you had your appendix out as well as uterus and ovary? I noticed lots of right ovaries out on the threads, me too but yes, I was a little surprised to hear of the appendix too.

They went in knowing they'd take my appendix. I've had a lot of pain over there for sometime so they wanted to take it out just to be cautious. It turns out my appendix is fine but one less thing to worry about in the future. I had a LVAH and have my ovaries. Maybe they thought it looked inflamed?

Yeah, I guess the oncologist thought something about the size of my appendix warranted is removal. O goodness, now I'm thinking, what if my problems were all from the appendix all along? (like, as in, totally benign condition in the uterus and ovary...) ahh, I don't think I can process any more info right now.

When I had my right ovary removed 9 years ago, the dr went ahead and took out my appendix. I did have some endo on it but I had been having so much pain on that side that he didn't want to take a chance that in the future I would mistake appendix pain for my 'normal' pain!! It was more than likely a precautionary deal. I think your appendix only has 2 states, normal and super-angry-I have-to-come-out-now!
