Wow this is soooo crazy weird. the fat roll between bellybutton and incision is NUMB!!!.. like i cant feel my fingers scratching down my skin.. I have heard of some tingling but this numb???? should i call the dr?? i do have pain at the points of the cut too.

I am exhausted also.. i am only 5 days post op and felt really good day 3 and 4 .. and i feel like i hit a brick wall. Is this normal?? i slept til 11am.. back to sleep at 1pm.. up at 3.30 now heading to be at 8 pm.. its crazy?? But is it normal?

Re: numbness in my fat roll :(

I can't really help with the numbness but it is normal to have good days and bad days. I think we start to feel better and think we can do more when we aren't ready to and its our bodies way of saying slow back down. Get your sleep while you can!!

Re: numbness in my fat roll :(

I feel the same numbness in my "fat roll" as you call it and I'm going into the fourth week post-op. It is a weird feeling not to feel yourself scratching your belly. It has started to fade in spots. I've been told by various friends that I may retain some degree of numbness or it might go away completely. At 5 days post-op... give yourself some time to heal. The exhaustion is going to come and go.

Everybody heals differently, but if you read enough posts around here you'll see that your experience is well within the range of "normal." Feel better soon.

Re: numbness in my fat roll :(

I think the numbness is normal, mine is like that too. I only have the small incisions since I had LAVH but still the lower part of my tummy is totally numb. Maybe it's from cutting nerves or something??

I am 11 days post-op. As far as the sleeping, I have pretty much done the same thing. I am doing just the opposite now, the last two nights, or mornings, I have not been to bed until 4 or 5 am. It's crazy.

I still have good days and bad though, I think it will be that way for a while. At least while you are resting your body is better able to heal. Best of luck!!

Re: numbness in my fat roll :(

I am 6 days post-op, tah-bso, and I have the same numb feeling in my fat roll! I've read it can go on for a long time. Today, I've been having cramping! What is up with that!!!

Re: numbness in my fat roll :(

I've had 2 c-sections as well as a TAH/BSO and have had the numbness with all 3 surgeries. It lasted about 6 months with my last c-section. I'm 3 weeks post-op and most of my lower abdomen is numb. It's kind of a freaky feeling!

Re: numbness in my fat roll :(

Hi ladies I am 6 months post op from a TAH and I had numbness for the first 2 months post op. Right now at 6 months it is pretty much back to normal except for a little sensitivity in the scar.

Re: numbness in my fat roll :(

Sleep while you can- you may hit the insomnia so many of us have posted about around 10 days. My dr warned me actually, so I wasn't surprised. I also have the belly numbness, and oddly the area between the vulva and anus has some numbness that only flares up when I have been on my feet too long. The swelly belly must press on a nerve as I get more swelling during the day. I am 18 days post op and there are still areas on my tummy that are numb. It is getting better though.

Re: numbness in my fat roll :(

I also have numbness in my fat roll 6 days post-op and I asked my dr about it today. He said it was because the nerve endings there had been damaged during surgery and they would have to regenerate, which takes time. He said that it wouldn't have happened as much if he had made a vertical incision, but who wants that??
