cramping when urinating

Hello everyone, I am a 37 year old who is 11 days post op from a LAVH (kept both ovaries) and I can't believe how easy this was for me!!! Pain level never got higher than a 2 out of 10 and I was never given pain meds. My only problem I am having is I have cramping when I pee. It is in the area half way between my bellybutton and my c-section scar. Every time I pee, I cramp, and when I am done it stops. Anyone else out there experience this? Also, my stitches are poking out, looks like white thread.
DH and DD have been great.
Thanks for everything and hope all are doing well

Welcome to post op Debbie

I'm glad you came through your surgery and are doing so well. You are one of the lucky ones without much pain. I'm happy for you! I just want to give a little caution. Sometimes when there isn't the pain to check you you can be tempted to do things before you are ready, so just be careful.

I think you need to call your dr about the pain when you urinate. You could have a urinary infection and don't want to let it go if that is what it is. There is a good article in Bladder Matters under the resources link above. I'm including that link for you. It talks about what can cause pain when you urinate.

I hope you have a smooth and uneventful recovery. Take it slow, eat well, drink lots of water and take little walks throughout the day. I am happy to hear you have your dh and dd to care for you. Let them pamper and you work on healing.

s, Rita
