Clothes to wear coming home from the hospital

When we were getting ready to leave, my DB said why don't you just wear the gowns (one over the other), but I was lively enough to put on sweats and a big tshirt. Bra? Who cares? I let them swing in the breeze and popped open a can of Coke in the car! Freedom!

Wear anything you're comfortable in and keep us posted when you get home.

I wore a loose-fitting sundress -- the same thing I wore to the hospital. It was several weeks before I could really manage any sort of pants with my incision and surgical drains.

You can just throw a sweater over your shoulders if you're cold. On second thought, though -- I like the robe idea, can't beat that for comfort! Of course, with my luck we would have been stopped for speeding on the way home from the hospital, and somehow the pink fuzzy bathrobe just isn't my best "look".

One thing I remember from having my 2nd child....wear bright colors of something in the hospital. I know I wore the pale blue and pale pink with my firstborn and looked and felt so washed out. With my DS, I bought emerald green satin PJs and Fuscia ones too along with a jewel toned satin robe and felt and looked soooo much better. I plan on doing the same thing. I think a little color goes a long way. Then again, I am also never too far from my lipstick. LOL

Loose yoga pants with draw-string, loose top, leather-bottomed slippers, and most importantly, the insert from a throw pillow so that seatbelt was not tight against hips/belly. Had 1 1/2 hour drive home, no problem.
Good luck!

Clothes to wear coming home from the hospital

My biggest concern was comfort and packing light! It was really hot here then so I wore a long dress, socks and slide-in shoes. I didn't want anything tight around the middle and I didn't want to bend over to get shoes on. I wore the same clothes coming and going. After release a pair of drawstring pants and a t-shirt were my favorite things!
