Hi Alina!

Coughing and sneezing after surgery can present some ouchie moments! You'll want to have a small, soft pillow you can hold over your abdomen to help you cough or sneeze with the least amount of pain. It also works if you get a case of the giggles or laughs, too!

Allergies

Hi Alina,

April Dawn is right about using a small pillow. As a matter of fact the nurse in the hospital before my surgery told me to practice a small cough each hour (actual purpose to help keep your lungs clear) along with breathing exercises when I'm in the hospital bed afterwards. I thought this exercise was very helpful.

I too have allergies and sneezed alot before my surgery. Since my operation I haven't sneezed at all (thank heavens)! It's strange like my body knows it can't handle it right now...
