Are You Driving Yet...??

:steer: I put off driving until 4 weeks. I had left my car with a friend anyway. My first drive was the 45-mile, one-hour drive to bring the car home. I let the car sit in the garage for about 2 days before I went out again for a very short trip to the store. Even now, I feel more comfortable putting a small pillow between my swelly belly and the seatbelt.

I was cleard to drive at 3 weeks but I didn't feel ready so I waited another week took a small trip to target to get a few things. Just wait til you feel ready whats the rush? Just know that If you need to its there..

Think I will wait a couple more weeks, noticed it pulls my incision to try and look over my shoulder at the moment......

Today was my first day driving. I was cleared two days ago, but have been climbing the walls around here and finally ventured out today by myself! Now I am tired and headed to the couch....

I'm 15 days post-op, took my first driving trip today! I haven't taken pain meds since day 5-6 and Dr had said that once I was off those and feeling good (which I am) I could drive. I couldn't stand it, I HAD to get my hair cut...so off I went! I drove slowly, took side roads. I was a bit tired, but I'm ok! Don't think I'll drive for any long distances for awhile yet!

I was ok'ed at 2 weeks also. I drive a standard so that is even more trickier to try and do. Still today at almost 5 weeks, the bumps really still hurt.

I limit my time in the car whether it is driving or as a passenger.

I was released at 2 weeks to drive.. and that I did. Next morning it looked like I had swallowed a beachball! Ive driven 2 more times since and am not looking forward to Monday' trip to the big city... Im taking the extra large clothes with me. I wouldnt go but my warden aka the ex has to go back home.
