Bad Pitts! :0)

I had odd smelling pitts for about 2 weeks post op. I believe it is because of all the hormonal changes because that can affect smells on your body and such. They seem fine now.

It's not just the hormonal changes, either. I kept my ovaries, but I still had some strange smells going on. Even my skin smelled different to me for several weeks! My doctor explained that it was because of the anesthesia working its way out of my body... I was very relieved when I heard that.

Hope this helps. In the meantime, this is a great time to experiment with new body sprays!

great question and great answers - I too have the 'bad pitt' thing happening but never thought to ask.

I am also experiencing very dry hair and skin. My nails are also taking forever to grow. There was a time when I couldn't keep them short - they grew so fast, now it's been 4 weeks and they are still fairly short.

About bad pitts.

Hello Sisters,

Yeah, I agree with all of you. I reallly think a smell or "stink" different...It has been only a week and two days from mine and I do have my ovaries...

I guess it would be another excuse to shop for more toiletries!

Take care.

I never knew that the anesthesia would do that to us. Wow, crazy. I never experienced that in march when i had gall bladder surgery. So I guess the combo of it all would do that . Crazy things our bodies do.,

OH MY!!!!

How funny is this, I came in here because I thought it said BRAD PITTS!!!! Was wondering what he had to do with someone's hysterectomy! Was he at the same hospital for something? Did they receive a phone call just because? Did they spot him in the recovery room??? And then I realized, NOPE.......but onto the topic at hand:

I have noticed the pitt thing, too. I was NEVER one to do the deoderant thing, because I never had much of an odor from my pitts. It was always funny when I told people that I didn't use deoderant, they'd be like....'well you don't stink or anything'.....NOW.....I feel very insecure anymore because of the odor. I actually had to get some pitt stuff. Does it go away? And, I still have my ovaries so it can't be too hormonal! Argh!

Bad Pitts! :0)

I am about 9 months post op and have noticed that there are days when I wonder if I did put on my deodarent in the morning. I know I did, but wow I could use a second application.

I have always kept an extra deodarent at work, and am now using it alot. I put it on in the morning, during work, after I get home and any other time that I can smell myself.

Hello allyson211,

I think you are hilarious! But I knew that this post would bring some laughs! ;0)

It would have been nice to see Brad Pitt in the recovery room...well...my eyes were funny, may be he was there!

Yup! We are stinky around here...so you don't use deodorant? Wow! I don't know what kind I am going to get to smell like flowers now...as the one I have is not working!

Take care.
