Don't be afraid...

Here I sit, a princess of 1 week. Believe it or not, It seems like so long ago that I was a LIW. I remember hearing how waiting was the hardest part. How great everything would turn out. So many words of encouragement.

It's amazing, isn't it? To find so many sisters, all experiencing the same things. We all started with our doubts about making the right choice. Wondered if our symptoms warranted such a drastic surgery.
Then we agonized over the unknown. What was going to happen? What did we need to know?
Next, we asked questions, small ones at first, then getting braver and asking "bigger" questions. Me, I threw in a problem with DH, and got tons of support. Learned alot with my cervix question. And had great fun and laughs at the bowel prep thread.

All along, there were dozens of women reading my fears, shaking their head in agreement, as I had done to the fears I was reading from others. Sharing ourselves with other women, getting support, reassurance.

It seemed to take forever to get to be the castle date. All the worry, sleeplessness, restlessness, fear. Then, suddenly , it was here. And past.

I've shared my bowel movements, gas, my family, my DH, and my humour. Ive shared my serious side too. I have felt pain, sorrow, gladness, compassion, excitement and fear.

Waiting is tough. This whole process, from decision to healing, is a slow, long, stressful one. The unknown stinks..
Can you imagine how much worse it would be if we didn't have each other?
Thank God for hystersisters.. Because even if everything did happen to go wrong.. we've got a huge support group..

I can't give anyone an assurance that all will be well.. But I can say.. we're in this together!

me too! Thank you, all you wonderful ladies that are making this horrible waiting time much easier for me. You are all so patient and kind and non-judgmental, you are all truly angels.
I find myself on this site 24/7, I can't help it, it is truly an obsession for me, but as long as I have all of you, I am not afraid.

God Bless!

S.

Opaque!

I've been awaiting your return to the site, welcome back Princess! Amazing how fast a week flies by isn't it?

I too am greatful for this site and the sisters. Everyone has been amazing.

The DH stories, the gas, the stress of waiting for our date to come. All of it.

I have good news from "the other side". The Big-O is still intact sans cervix. While manipulating an external marital aid, I was able to achieve!!

My dear MsTlily,
you are quite the little over-achiever, aren't you?
(congratulations!)

Well it was a topic of great discussion that opaque posted, just thought I'd check it out asap to see - you know, for the sake of the boards. Inquiring minds want to know. Just glad to do my part.

I'll go rest now since I have clearly been over-achieving.

YEA
I had a dream last night that had me feeling all frisky, but was afraid to "help" it along, I was just glad to know that the feel was still there.
By the way, no one warned me that laughing would hurt. LOL

OMG, Ms T. I was thinking about that myself yesterday. Not quite up to finding out yet, but have plans for the weekend, whether my tummy hurts or not! I'm so glad to know it worked. I was afraid to try , because of the vaginal cuff. I'm slowly feeling those stitches. I think.. or maybe I was thinking too much about sex...

39&fallnapart!.. we are not angels, or patient, or kind LOL.. we are you.. we are sisters sharing a common major decision that entails alot of major fears.

akita.. I'm doing pretty good. In pain, but still feeling better than I was 2 weeks ago before surgery.
