Is This Normal? I Have Tallked To My Dr. Twice After Coming Home And Feel Like I'm A Bother If I Call Again. The First Time I Called Because I'm Bleeding And I Still Am Smell Is Terrible And The Other Time Was To Ask Where All The Fluid From The Drain Pump That I Had Where Was It Going Now And The Hot Sweats. Please Help Me With This. I So Much Thank You All And I Know You Have Your Own Post Op To Deal With. I Guess I Should Of Got More Answers From My Dr. Thanks

is it possible that you are constipated. A full bowel may press on a raw area and cause intense pain.

No I Know What It Feels Like With The Gas Pains I Have Been There. This Pain Only Really Hits When I Get Up From Sitting Or If I'm Going To Sit Or Walking. If I Don't Hold This Area With Pressure I Would Be To The Roof.

Have you over done? Lifted? Pulled, slid something that was heavy?
Maybe it is just a spot where the Dr. tugged more and things are more stretched there. You are pretty fresh out of this, but if it continues, then you should call your Dr. Sometimes one more day makes a huge difference. I hope if you are doing more then you should be that you stop and rest. Lay low except for those little walks and see if it helps.

Yes, I Have Done More Than I Should Be. I Even Drove Myself To The Casino, And Walked At The Swap Mart. I Just Thought That This Will Help Me Due To Being Unable To Do Any Waliking In The Hospital. Hope I Did Not Mess Anything Up Down There. I Will Just Slow Down. I Get So Bored I Miss Working I Have Bills And No Income. I Guess I Was Just Trying To Do More To Get My Hinnie Back To Work. Thanks For The Input

ahhhhhhhh

Oh my dear friend......patience!!!!!!!
If you learn nothing else from having a hysterectomy, it will be patience and understanding!
And trust me, I was guilty of not having it! My first day home I was thinking I had to push my self to "get over it", and "get better now", for two reasons, my family having never experienced this told me to get over it, and I couldnt imagine going back to work the way I was feeling! With no money coming in, I thought if I pushed it I would recover faster! What a joke that was! DUMB! A friend from church told me I was doing way too much and said she slid a microwave across the counter and got a hernia! That scared me and I really wasnt feeling like I was up to what I was doing. Then I found this site and realized that I was only setting myself backwards.
It REALLY is true it takes 6 to 8 weeks to feel good enough to go back to work, I ended up going back at 8 weeks. I still feel "things".
This surgery is more than you think. If we had clear skin so we could see and others could see what it actually going on in there we would be stunned and give ourselvs the break we need. As for you...
I know you don't want to hear it, but you probably have set yourself back a bit, you have only this one chance to heal and pushing it is not the way. I dont know how in the world you have done what you have!!!!! NOW STOP IT!!!!!! Let your body do what it has to do and cooperate with it. Then things will fall back in place I bet. I know, it's frustrating. But you have to rest. OK???? I'm done now!!!!

I too had a TAH on the 19th. Your situation sounds alot different than mine. To this day I feel o.k with almost no pain. The only pain I have is in my incision and it is just a little sore. I do get extreamly exhausted easily and I have trouble sleeping. But other than that I feel really good considering. I wish you the best and do take it easy.

Thanks Can You Rest Just Sitting Or Do Your Feet Need To Be Up. I Know That Sounds Dumb But, If I Can Sit And Do Some Things I Need To Do This Would Be Not To Bad. Better Than What I Had Been Doing.

Pain Pain

I also had a TAH on the 19th. I did not have much pain until this last Friday. Most pain was the burning under the incision, but I started just having an ache on the lower left side too. Yesterday I followed DH around the grocery store and the pain was bad by the afternoon - both front and back. I couldn't bend over at all and I couldn't lie on my back last night and had to sleep propped up. This morning it was gone but the burning was back. Now the ache in the back started up again. Today I had done not much of anything besides sit in my desk chair for a few hours. Either I did too much yesterday and am still feeling it today or the pain isn't related to either and is just healing pains. Reading all of the info on this site makes me think it's normal to have some pains come and go through the healing process.

Dh is just poised and ready to take me in at the slightest hint of a problem - he's not so good at dealing with me in discomfort even though I'm just sitting here quietly. I do have my tylenol 3 and went back to taking it more regularly. It helps. I thought I'd give it a few more days (with rest of course) before I call my dr since I haven't done any bleeding and there's no new bruising or discoloration - just my swelly belly.
