Anybody know about prolapse??

Hey Ladies,
I was wondering if anyone knows what the signs are for bladder prolapse or any type of prolapse ?? I had my TAH almost a year ago but starting to feel crappy again. If anyone can help me out that would be great. I just feel something is not right.

Hugs to you all,
SnShine

Anybody know about prolapse??

When sitting on toilet, see if you can feel something bulged just inside your vagina. I could actually see mine peaking out but thought it was a prolapsed cervix. The physical symptoms were lower back pain and hip pain but I didn't know that was what was causing the pain. Also, peeing is a challenge. I think I could do it better if I was naked and playing twister then sitting on the toilet. Every shift allows a little more to come out... and then you stand and need to pee... and then you reach for the tp and you need to pee... and so on. My uterus and cervix were prolapsed on top of my bladder which was causing the smushing and thus the little peeing incidents. I didn't have stress incontinence or leaking of any king.

I have minor rectocele which we did not repair this go round. It's were the rectum wall is weak and so allows the rectum to lay over in the vaginal canal. When constipated, there is a bulge sensation in the vagina like the bladder bulge sensation mentioned above.

The anterior repair I had involved pulled the ligaments that hold the bladder in place downward... securing to vaginal wall just inside the opening... and then trimming off the excess. As my doctor explained it -- a sort of upside down facelift.

Best wishes !

Anybody know about prolapse??

Snshine, I'm not sure. But I had a similar question regarding my symptoms and a few fellow sisters thought it might be prolapse. My symptoms are I have cramps?????? I didn't think I would be at this point. I haven't done anything I'm not supposed to. They've been getting progressively worse this week. I don't understand, I was feeling so good then all of a sudden it changed. It's not gas, I know that feeling. I'm also experiencing a weird sensation like an inflated balloon that's being tugged on through my vagina.

What are your symptoms?

Anybody know about prolapse??

Hi Barbara
I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling right. I know that must be a worry. There can be a lot of different things going on. It's best for you to see your dr and find out before you worry too much. Do you have a yearly exam coming up? If you are very concerned call and make it early.
I can share a good link that explains Pelvic Organ Prolapse in detail. It talks about the different kinds and how they are diagnosed and what can be done. I hope you find this is not a big problem for you. Let us know when you find out for sure.

Anybody know about prolapse??

Thanks all who posted !! The symptoms I have are cramping, lower back pain and side pain. My insides feel very full and my scar feels like it is going to bust open. I have pressure when I go to the bathroom like I am bottoming out. It doesn't hurt to urinate though. I thought I would be done with this already !! I am to do a yearly follow up in November but I need to find another doctor because my insurance no longer covers the one that did the surgery. Thank to you all and God Bless !!

My reply is very similar to gordonk's...I could feel (or very easily see) my bladder bulging out (of my vagina). I had pressure incontinence rather than stress incontinence...I didn't leak with coughing or sneezing (but MIL does big time, she had her hyst about 10+ yrs ago)..I would leak with bending or feel like I never emptied..and every time I'd stand up after peeing or reach over for the TP or just whatever..I'd have to go again/more. It'd be easier on you if you caught it earlier on, so I suggest seeing your ob/gyn.
