How long did your Dr. require you to abstain from Intercourse

My doctor says 12 weeks. I had everything removed laproscopically. They want to make sure the top of the vagina is completely healed. It just seems like such a loooooong time.

I was cleared at 6 wks. We tried and it was awful..Tried again at 8 same thing. At 10 it was ok but take your Dr.s advise and wait. 12 weeks seems like forever but in the end its for your own good. Good luck.

8 weeks until cleared, 9 weeks when we first tried. I think 12 weeks is a good idea. At 9 weeks I was still sore and so scared of tearing my cuff and tense and I cried. I wasn't feeling sexy at all.

I wasn't cleared for 12 weeks!

6 weeks (my doc did a 6 week exam to make sure everything was healed)

My original surgeon-a man- told me 6 weeks. He was not able to do the surgery. His replacement- a woman -told me 8 weeks. I'm at 6 weeks and mentally I'm wanting it and have done some self help with great results, but I'm really scared for the real thing. I'm glad for the extra time honestly.

9 weeks for me. Had the DaVinci procedure and was told the cuff isn't as strong as a result, hence the longer wait... Seems like a long time but worth the wait if that's what it takes!

My doc told me six weeks. He told my husband and me about a patient of his that had sex THREE days after surgery, LOL!

Oh my word, I cannot imagine!!
