Did some pre-op pampering today!

Okay, I had considered buying some pretty new PJ's for post-op, and dismissed it as an unneccesary expense. I've got a couple pairs of sleep pants and old tshirts that I sleep in, and those would be just fine. I'm trying to pinch some pennies, since I'll be off work for a while.

One of my internet scrapbooking friends knew this, and surprised me with a $20 Kohl's gift card, along with a note saying that every girl deserves new jammies every so often. Wasn't that sweet??

Anyway, I went and used it today. I hit the 80% off clearance racks, and got some DEALS! With my gift card, I got two sets of very pretty PJs - pants and tops - and a spare top for one of the sets. I had enough left over to pamper myself a bit. Kohl's is the home of my favorite candle in the world: For Every Body's Apple Pie, and they had the great big jar candles on sale for $5. I had just enough left on my card to get one!

It was a great way to snap myself out of my pre-op funk.

Rubi,

You have a nice friend! And great shopping skills! Isn't it nice when a treat falls in your lap?

We had a Kohl's open up a couple of weeks ago. I might just have to run in to check out the clearance racks.

Good luck,

Dianne

Hi Rubi,

What a thoughtful idea of your friends and didn't you grab some bargains. I think it's great to pamper yourself prior to surgery helps soothe a few nerves and it's good for the soul.

My hairdresser wouldn't charge me for my cut and colour the week before my surgery which I thought was lovely. I was able to recipricate when she ended up having a hyster last week. I sent her a thinking of you bright balloon arrangement.

It's always nice to know that there are kind people in the world.

Take care and wishing you all the best..............Karen

This is a wonderful "excuse" for self-pampering. You've earned it!

I just treated myself to some new flannel jammies (flamingo theme) -- they are "like butter" to quote Linda Richmond.... So I know just how you feel.

Continue taking good care of yourself.
