In my situation, I didn't use any hormones with natural menopause. Then I had my ovaries removed, and had worse symptoms, so started on a Cllimara patch. It has worked well for me. I'm not clear on what your situation or status is, are you having menopause symptoms after your hysterectomy? It looks like you kept your ovaries? My experience may be different from your situation.

I did go through natural menopause. Post TAH, I have some hot flashes and night sweats. I am going to ask about the climera this Friday. I was worrying about weight gain on it.

I initially kept my ovaries but did have hot flashes for a while post op, but they stopped at about 5 wks. Later I did lose my ovaries and start Climara. Personally, I have not had weight gain on it.

Re: Almost 5 weeks and considering Climara ERT?Anyone using it

After removal of both ovaries, I was started on Climara 0.05 on day 10. I loved the way climara made me feel, but I could not get that darn patch to stick to me for 7 days. Just remember that since you do have an ovary, though you may be going into menopause, it could still be trickling out hormones. If so, then you may only need a low dose. I did not gain any weight while I was on climara (or any patch) either.
