Vaginal Dryness- 2 yr post-op

Ok Sisters-

** My apologies for being kinda graphic, but this really sucks and I need help**

I am 33 years old. My recovery has been a dream- I had a hysterectomy- lost the uterus and cervix-kept the ovaries (cant remember the technical name for it off the top of my head. My bad) in December 08. However, within the last month or two, I have been experiencing wicked vaginal dryness that is seriously affecting my daily life. I am so dry that it feels like it is itchy inside and out as well. Nothing has been a relief for me. I have tried changing laundry soaps, body soaps, everything to rule out other possibilities and issues as well.

I am afraid it may have something bad to do with my ovaries or hormones. i AM going to make an appt with my Gyno, so don't worry ladies!

What do you guys think or do you have any suggestions for temporary solutions? Or what do you think is going on????

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing vaginal dryness. Your ovaries could have diminished estrogen production which could be triggering this.

Some women get relief from OTC items like Replens or KY Liquibeads. Others of us need to go to vaginal estrogen to get the tissue healthy again.

Has anyone here tried the KY Liquibeads? I saw them at the supermarket...ALMOST got them...would love to hear some feedback...

I have and do use the ky liquibeads. I like them better than Replens (although i think my first experience with Replens was biased because I had an infection at the time and didn't know it. So i may be blaming replens for things the infection was doing). I do like the liquibeads. The only issue is that forthe first 24 hours expect some discharge as excess, unabsorbed liquid leaves your vagina. It can be enough for a panty liner.

I don't use them all the time.
